UIC could obtain 39% of the general insurances in Yemen and 50% of insurances of fires, life safety and marine security. The general manager of the company Tarek A. Hayel said, in a ceremony on passing 25 years since the establishment of the company in 1981, that the company has always sought to develop its performance and to replace the foreign workers with Yemeni workers. He said that the number of employees at the company reached more than 125 Yemeni employees and only two foreign employee. He added that the company could have provided developed and competitive insurances coverage and adopted well-studied policies. Therefore, it could gain the international quality award ISO (9001-2000) to be the first company in Yemen to get this award. He also stated that it has been working hard to obtain more strategic ambitions through providing new insurance services for industrial, trade and public service institutions.

UIC intends to conduct a training course for its clients in health and vocational safety that related to the Quality certificate of the OHSAS 18001 -99. The course aims at spreading the awareness of the importance of the vocational protection which is considered the most important causes of the dangers that the insured is exposed to.
This course comes in synchronization with the celebrations of the UIC on its Silver Jubilee.

Recently, the UIC received the students of the Administrative Faculty of Science - the second level in Andalusia University for the sciences and the technology. The students have acquainted through the visit on the insurance works and the activities related to the course (Risk Management and Insurance) within the university curricula. On the other hand, many of the students have expressed their thanks to the company for their hosting where they recognized basics of the insurance from the applied reality and the specialist has also answered all their inquiries in this important field..

Within the context of the company to train and rehabilitate its staff in the insurance industry field, the company arranged last November for six of its employees an intensive course for 56 days in the insurance and reinsurance in the Arab Republic of Egypt in cooperation with Egypt institute for insurance. Mr. Fathi Al Sagheer, non-marine underwriter specialist stated that the trainees acquainted with a new insurance information in energy, oil insurance and aviation insurance. The company also intends in the near future to send more employees to study at the Egypt institute for insurance.
